Are you struggling with dating stagnancy? Basically, feeling tired of dating due to the line of “failed” dates or relationships in your past.
Trust me, I get it.
I know that it can be super hard to motivate yourself to go out on another date, let alone actually feel excited about a date, when you’re dreading the idea it’s going to be with a total dud. It’s impossible to know how a date is going to go before you go on it, and if your history with dating is full of men you didn’t click with, it’s normal to feel discouraged.
Dating can take a lot out of you, but before you throw in the towel, I have a challenge for you. I want to help shift your perspective on dating so you can start to get excited about it again.
Instead of going along with boring dinner plans at a restaurant you don’t love, what if you planned a date that you would enjoy? Contrary to popular belief, the guy doesn’t need to come up with the date idea.
Why not make it more fun by planning a date full of activities you already love?
Here’s an example:
If you hate bowling and mini-golf, don’t agree to a date with a man in a bowling alley or at a golf course. But if you love painting or playing pool, then invite your date to a painting class or a night out for billiards. Try to plan a date that you’ll enjoy even if you don’t end up connecting super well with the man. This will help you relax, feel more like yourself, and show up more authentically.
Here are some journal prompts to help you end your dating stagnancy and get excited about dating again:
- What are five things you really enjoy doing? (They can be hobbies.)
- What does a perfect date look like for you? (Don’t be afraid to get specific!)
- What are some activities or interests you hope to share with your future significant other?
A big reason women get discouraged in dating is that they’re not able to show up authentically — and consequently, they can’t find men who love them genuinely.
When I work with my clients I help them to tap into simple but effective ways to meet and engage with the right men so they can feel confident to put themselves out there as their authentic self and avoid dating stagnancy altogether.
Struggling with Dating Stagnancy? Try this.
