If I could have one Christmas wish come true, it would be to completely ban the Hallmark movies.

I could go on for hours about all thew ways these films are sabotaging women and leading them to believe that love is easy…

But I’ll leave that rant for another day – today we’re focusing on tips for dating during the holidays.

So, turn off the TV, put down the popcorn, and make the most of this holiday season by getting yourself out there!

Because when it comes right down to it, the holidays are a wonderful time to date.

Think about it.

Most people are home for the holidays with time off of work, everyone is generally in a good mood thanks to the spirit of the season, and there is no shortage of holiday activities providing great ways to meet new people.

It’s the perfect recipe for singles looking to date!

But, even with all the extra holiday help love still isn’t going to just fall in your lap.

So how do you make the most of this holiday season when it comes to dating? Let’s talk about it! Here are my 3 Tips for Dating During the Holidays.

1. Go where the people are.

As lovely as it is to sit at home with your fuzzy flannel and hot cocoa, it’s hard to meet anyone new that way. Instead, grab your coat and scarf, and get yourself out there!

There’s a natural buzz in the air during this season so use it to your advantage! 😉 People are out and about during the holidays doing their gift shopping, seeing the lights, or getting together for holiday parties. So accept the invitation, go to the event, check out the festivals and take every chance to spend time with others and meet someone new.

2. Smile and chat.

Even the most mundane of holiday tasks create chances to meet men if you look for it. Take advantage of those opportunities to connect! Simply looking at a man in the eye and smiling makes a huge difference.

Get the courage to say hello, give a compliment, or start up a conversation. You never know where a simple chat could lead you. Don’t let those chances pass you by. 3. Slow down and present.

The holidays always have a way of filling up and flying by, so get intentional with how you want to spend your time this year. Check in with yourself often. Give yourself permission to be choosy with your time and energy. Take a deep breath whenever you need one.

It’s so easy to get caught up in the busy side of holidays that we often forget to be present with the people around us and ourselves.
